culture

Culture is the lifeblood of the Hutchinson Heritage Foundation, serving as the foundation upon which they build a deeper understanding of their heritage and a stronger, more inclusive community.

Community

Community is the family that goes beyond family. It is the people and places that we come in contact with each and every day. When we strengthen communities, we strengthen individuals.

Our Programs

We anticipate our programs launching in 2024-2025.

The Hutchinson Heritage Foundation offers a diverse range of programs, including community service initiatives, mentorship programs, arts and technology initiatives, college grants, and support services, as well as generous holiday giveaways, all designed to empower and uplift our community.

Each One, Teach One

The Hutchinson Heritage Grant is awarded through a competitive application process, where eligible individuals, organizations, or projects submit proposals outlining their heritage preservation or promotion efforts. These proposals are carefully reviewed by The Hutchinson Heritage Foundation's Board of Directors, who select recipients based on the alignment of the project with the foundation's mission and the potential impact on preserving and promoting cultural and historical heritage.

Create & Inspire

The Hutchinson Heritage Foundation's Arts & Tech Program is a dynamic initiative that bridges the worlds of arts and technology, fostering creativity and innovation. This program provides a platform for individuals and communities to explore the intersection of these fields, offering workshops, resources, and opportunities for artistic expression, digital skill development, and the integration of technology into the arts. It aims to empower participants to harness the power of technology to enhance their artistic endeavors while also fostering a deeper appreciation for the arts in the digital age. Through partnerships with local artists, technologists, and educators, the program seeks to inspire and equip individuals to explore new artistic frontiers and contribute to the evolving landscape of arts and technology.

United As One

The Community Outreach Program offered by The Hutchinson Heritage Foundation is a multifaceted initiative dedicated to making a positive impact on our local communities. This program aims to foster strong community bonds and support initiatives that address social, cultural, and environmental needs. It involves a range of activities such as volunteer efforts, charitable donations, educational workshops, and collaborative projects with local organizations. By actively engaging with community members and stakeholders, The Hutchinson Heritage Foundation strives to enhance the well-being and quality of life in our communities while aligning with our mission of preserving and promoting cultural and historical heritage. Through this program, we seek to build a stronger, more resilient, and inclusive community that reflects the values and spirit of our foundation.

Events

The Holiday and Events Program offered by The Hutchinson Heritage Foundation is a vibrant celebration of cultural heritage and community togetherness, created in loving memory of Arlene Esteves. Arlene, who cherished the holidays, family gatherings, and had a deep connection to Edisto Island, was known for her vibrant spirit and her exceptional talent as the ultimate holiday event planner. This program, inspired by her passion, curates and hosts a variety of special events and activities throughout the year, aligning with significant holidays and cultural observances. From festive gatherings, workshops, and exhibitions to performances and educational seminars, our program aims to bring people together to honor and learn about diverse traditions and historical legacies. Whether it's celebrating holidays, cultural festivals, or historical milestones, The Hutchinson Heritage Foundation's Holiday and Events Program creates meaningful opportunities for individuals and communities to come together, foster understanding, and celebrate the richness of our shared heritage, just as Arlene did.
